Goals

Here is the page that I will list the goals that I have for my jump rope workout over the next 36 weeks.  I am going to take this as three 12 week periods with a different emphasis for each period.

My first 12 week period will begin 1-18-10 and my goal for the workouts will be to develop the stamina needed to jump rope continuously for 30 minutes without taking a break.  Along with this I intend to start mastering different footwork and skills so that at the end of the 12 weeks I will be able to mix my workouts up in order to keep from getting bored and to keep my body from becoming accustomed to one routine which would limit my gains in the long run.  Learning new skills and footwork will also add the benefit of developing my concentration and agility.  As I work my way through the later stages of this 12 weeks, achieving the goals I set, my focus will turn toward the next 12 week period of time and at that point I will start developing goals for that period.

Weight loss will also be a big part of my goals for these 36 weeks of working out and my target is going to be set high.  Overall I plan to lose around 85 to 95 lbs depending on my initial weight which I will take on the morning of 1-16-10 which is just a few short days away.

The final component of my goals will be my cholesterol numbers.  While my bad cholesterol has never been real bad my good cholesterol has been very low and I am interested in seeing what it is now before I start on my jump rope training journey.  I plan on getting this tested on Wednesday of this week, which will be 1-13-10, so I don’t expect to post my beginning numbers for that for at least a few weeks.  Here is my starting weight and the goals I will achieve for my first 12 week jump rope fitness plan.
